Audio-Technica Is Now Shipping Its ATH-ANC70 QuietPoint® Noise-Cancelling Headphones
STOW, OH, December 16, 2013 – Audio-Technica is now shipping its new ATH-ANC70 QuietPoint active noise-cancelling (ANC) headphones. The latest addition to the company’s award-winning QuietPoint family of noise-cancelling headphones, the ATH-ANC70 provides up to 90% noise cancellation and offers a host of improvements, including a mic and controller for answering calls and controlling music, completely integrated electronics with all functionality built into the earcup, and a new comfort-fit design.
The ATH-ANC70 has a microphone and controller for answering calls and operating music playback, and the controls are discreetly built into one of the earcups. Simply press the illuminated “Audio-Technica” logo/button to activate the mic or scroll through music tracks. A highly sensitive fixed-position mic has been built into the earcup, rather than the cable, to maintain consistent distance from the mouth for uniform volume level and to eliminate noise from cable motion or rubbing on a collar. The mic and controller support most smartphones as well as select products including the iPhone®, iPad® and many iPod® models.
The ATH-ANC70 is redesigned to provide total long-wearing comfort. The diameter of the earcups has been increased for a more comfortable over-ear fit, and the earcups have a slimmer profile. The ear cushions and headband are made from memory foam, and the design of the headband hugs the shape of the wearer’s head to evenly distribute mass for a lighter “feel” and fit.
Like all QuietPoint models, the ATH-ANC70 offers superior noise-cancellation performance and audio quality. The headphones’ large 40 mm drivers and high-quality internal components deliver clear, detailed sound with impactful bass, a natural midrange, extended treble and precise imaging in an immersive sound field. The ATH-ANC70 also works when the noise-cancelling function is turned off, and operates in passive mode without batteries. The detachable cord enables the ATH-ANC70 to be used as cordless noise-cancelling headphones.
The ATH-ANC70 folds for compact storage and comes with a hard carrying case, a 1/4-inch adapter and airline adapter. The included AAA battery provides up to 40 hours of operation.
The Audio-Technica ATH-ANC70 QuietPoint active noise-cancelling headphones are currently available at a suggested U.S. retail price of $199.95.
