Google announces the Nexus 5, starting at $349

The smartphone that people have been waiting for is finally available for purchase. If you’re unaware of Google’s Nexus devices, they’re typically high-end smartphones offered at extremely-low off-contract prices. The Nexus 5 is no exception, starting at just $349 for the 16GB model, going up to only $399 for double the storage at 32GB. All of the recent leaks ended up being legitimate, so in terms of specs, the Nexus 5 is quite the powerhouse, consisting of 2GB of RAM, a fast quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, a sizable 4.95-inch 1080×1920 display (w/Gorilla Glass 3), 1.3MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear-facing camera, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and a 2,300mAh battery. The white and black models are both available on the Google Play store. If you want to pick one up at a store (due to Google Play’s odd refund policy), it will be available [soon] from Sprint, T-Mobile, Best Buy, and RadioShack.
