T-Mobile users with an LTE device will be in for a real treat, as T-Mobile will launch their long-awaited LTE network next Tuesday. Right now, only the Galaxy Note II will be able to take advantage of the increased data speeds. You will, however, need to install a software update (now available) to enable the LTE radio that’s within the handset. Preliminary speedtests show that T-Mobile’s LTE network is capable of pumping out speeds of up to 60Mbps down and 20Mbps up (keywords: “up to”), but theoretical speeds will vary greatly depending on network congestion, time, signal strength, and more. The current catch is that T-Mobile is being very quiet about which cities will get the service first, but LTE in Las Vegas and Kansas City is said to be ready to be flipped on.
