First book-less library in the U.S. set to open in San Antonio

While plans aren’t 100% complete, the country’s first book-free library is expected to open in San Antonio, Texas in the Fall. What will it look like? Founder and book-lover Nelson Wolff claims that, “if you want to get an idea what it looks like, go into an Apple store.” There’s no denying the fact that physical books are on their way out, so plans are for there to be plenty of screens, both large and small, for people to use. If you’d like to take your reading elsewhere, e-readers will be available for check-out just like you would check-out a regular book. The initial collection of 10,000 e-books will happen once funding has reached at least $250,000.
