Many are avoiding the Xbox One due to two things: its high price, and the inclusion of a peripheral that they’ll probably never use. Microsoft aims to take care of both of those concerns by dropping the price by $100, making it $399, the same price as the PS4. In addition, the $399 Xbox One won’t be including the Kinect. You can get the cheaper Xbox One starting on June 9th.
This is a move that many are saying should’ve been done since the very beginning. Sony has sold more PS4s than Microsoft has the Xbox One by quite a few units. Microsoft certainly hopes that the new price offers a wider appeal so that more people can finally get their hands on the console.
