Ubuntu for phones is now official. While it will be quite a while before we’ll see consumer devices running it, it’s still quite interesting nonetheless. Its aim is to bridge the gap between what people do on their computers and on their smartphones. The interface is immediately recognizable as Ubuntu, which makes “finding and switching between apps and content easier than any other mobile OS” around, according to Canonical’s Jane Silber. We should see much more during CES, where Ubuntu will be providing demonstrations of their latest creation.
