Project CARS, currently in development with a release date of sometime in November, has been known for months as being quite a pretty racing title. The Slightly Mad Studios (SMS) team has put together a new trailer, titled “The Ultimate Driver Journey,” that shows off the pure beauty of the game.
The Trailer
Each scene in the video was taken from the PC version of the game, itself expected to be available for the PS4, Xbox One, SteamOS, and even the Wii U.
SMS said that Project CARS features “world-class graphics and handling, a ground-breaking dynamic time of day & weather system, and deep tuning & pit stop functionality, [leaving] the competition behind in the dust.”
Project CARS has actually been available to people since October 2011 to essentially pre-order, test and give feedback. However, there were some regulatory issues that forced them to close new registrations.
Fortunately, I signed up in time, and have been testing (AKA playing, AKA enjoying!) Project CARS very early on. I can attest that the game indeed looks absolutely fantastic, one of the most visually stunning driving games ever made. What you see in the video above really is what you’ll eventually be able to experience yourself (referring to the PC version, of course). And because the game still has several months until its release, commenting on other aspects of the game isn’t very practical.
However, I will say that this will perhaps be one of the most desired racing games of all time. Its combination of graphics, gameplay (single-player and multi-player) and community will make it worthwhile.
