Dell is looking to start offering Chromebooks for the first time, and if you’re unfamiliar with Chromebooks, they’re essentially low-powered laptops with the goal of getting on the web at affordable prices. Everything you do is basically done inside of the Chrome web browser, with plugins and extensions available if need be. Dell is focusing on education, hoping to launch at least one model at under the price of $300. Specs are about what you’d expect from these types of computers, featuring a basic Intel Celeron CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, a 16GB SSD, and 2GB RAM. Faster models are available. These are expected to be available during the first quarter of 2014.
