In reply to besweeet. no it prompts you to enter the 32 character serial number that shows on screen during the set up. the other numbers are all on the bottom of the box but not the serial number who does that? I called the rep and she says it is displayed during the initial set up but since it was not connected to a TV or monitor I have no idea how to access that number so I can remove my old slingbox number and update it with the new Slingbox 500. Who does that? Their has to be to get the serial number remotely so that I can add edit and replace with the new one.

In reply to Becky. I'm not aware of there being any serial number when setting it up. Setup really only includes putting in your username and password so that you can access it anywhere with just that information.

my husband set up the new slingbox to direct tv problem he did not connect to a tv and now I’m trying to access it in Canada but do not have the serial number that was displayed when it was initially set up. How do I obtain the serial number remotely?
